This Zulu “Iklwa” stabbing spear comes from South Africa. This magnificent piece has an intact palm fiber basket weave wrapping securing the shaft of the spear that is unique to them. This beautifully crafted piece measure 46” overall with a 13.5” top iron section and a razor sharp 7” blade. We estimate this piece dates back at least 100 years and possibly older. Someone varnished the top of it to preserve it and thus this reduces the value considerably. This outstanding piece most likely saw battle during one of the many conflicts of the day. This piece would make a great addition to any trophy room.
